Ereinion Gil-galad was the last High King of the Noldor in Middle-earth. He did not fall to corruption or pride like so many before him. He fell at the foot of Mount Doom, in the war he chose to fight, standing beside Elendil in the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. His house symbol is not a symbol of victory. It is a symbol of a promise kept, at the highest possible price.
