The Doors of Durin were built by Narvi the Dwarf and inscribed by Celebrimbor of Eregion. Visible only in starlight or moonlight, inlaid with ithildin, they marked the western entrance to Khazad-dum. The design is based directly on Tolkien’s own drawing from the first edition of the book. The inscription above the door is readable. It is written in Tengwar, in Sindarin mode, and it says: Pedo mellon a minno. Speak, friend, and enter.
Now it opens your door too.
